Dubnyk was absolutely unbelievable. Since the beginning of March he's really made a good name for himself, with a bit better d up front I would be fine with him as #1. I'd like to see us finish as strong as possible over the last few games, prove how effective this team can be and possibly force us into a position where we have to draft a defenseman.

I think that if the Oilers win the lottery, they trade down with any of the Jackets, Canadiens or Leafs for an NHL defenseman and a first. Enough young forwards.

Calder Race: Unsung hero: Adam Henrique. One point back, less games played than Landeskog, annihilates RNH in FO%, plays more PK than any other finalist (Maybe you still consider Matt Read an outside shot).

As far as nothing games go, do your best and worry about draft picks later. Especially if you're getting at worst the 3rd pick.

On that front, I'm checking out Grigorenko in a week when he swings by Halifax. I'll be sure to pelt him with something.

Henrique will finish 3rd in scoring playing with Parize and Kovalchuk. He has little chance. Read has an even less chance. Landeskog will likely win, however the Avs likely missing the playoffs may change things.

Montreal is going to take Grigorenko because of the Roy Factor, unless they win the lotto and can take Yakupov. Oilers if they pick between 2 and 4 will get at least one of the guys they like (Galchenyuk, Murray, Reinhart or Forsberg) so it's all good.

I don't even think Henrique will get a nod for the Calder. I'm thinking it will be Landeskog, Nuge and Gardiner. TO media will promote their guy.

So then it is a Laneskog - Nuge race.

Dubnyk isn't as bad as many on these boards say. His save % is near the median of the other 29 NHL starters on a team with a suspect defense. He is not a top level goaltender, but he is not the Oilers' problem either.

Belanger can win a face off, Cogliano is smaller and faster.

Looking at the standings, Toronto, Islanders and Anaheim are 4 points ahead of Edmonton, Carolina and Minnie are 5 points. There is a possibility (albeit small one) that we could finish as high as 23rd.

I haven't really payed attention to the lines too much but hasn't Elias been getting a lot of time with Parise and Kovy? Henrique probably got his fair share, but I don't think it's a lock that he'll either finish 3rd in scoring or that he necessarily has the best opportunities of the three. He plays the least PP time of the three, for example.

It's probably a two-horse race (Landy and Hopkins) but I think Henrique has had a pretty impressive season too.

Oh well, then we get Griffin Reinhart and the chance to acknowledge that the moment Renney yells at us we go 9-2-2.

Agree with the assessment. Seems like a wash to me. Neither can score. Both bring a little bit to table.

The TO media is big, but not big enough to get a non-consensus guy in there.

You couldn't know less about hockey if grew up in Cuba!

No reason to play RNH big minutes against Getzlaf. Is your idea to get him killed? He is still only 18!

How do you know who Edm is high on in the draft? You haven't shown to have any connections to Edm management in the past.

RNH deserves the Calder over Landeskog cause he is a pivot and plays on the first line. Landeskog has Matt Deushene to take pressure off of him and a much better defense core than RNH.

One thing to remember is how meaningless these games are. I'd like to see how they actually perform under pressure, like a playoff race.

Landeskog doesn't even play with Duchene. Duchene couldn't hold Landeskog's or RNH's jock this year.
